Amy graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a 1st Class Hons Degree in Music and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Opera Performance. During her time at the college Amy was awarded the Betty Richards Prize, the Dolan Evans Prize, a Leverhulme Scholarship and the Jenkin-Phillips Prize. She began performing and auditioning for operatic productions, but later turned her attention to nurturing and encouraging children to be confident performers.

Amy had begun teaching musical theatre in 2011 alongside her studies,and taught and directed at many of the leading theatre schools in South Wales and the West, as well as travelling to China to teach musical theatre in a 10 day intensive course. In 2019, Amy established Ballyhoo Stage Arts in Torfaen, she continued to teach via zoom and outside classes throughout covid, and opened classes Newport in 2021. Her practice is shaped by a commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning, ensuring every young person feels supported and able to grow.

Amy is a mum to 3 children who have helped shape and inspire her teaching style over the years, as well as given her a true understanding of the need for flexibility and transparent pricing for parents. Amy strongly believes in giving every child the opportunity to perform, build confidence and have fun doing it.
