Performing Art Classes
Magenta 8+ years
Singing - We recognise that singing can be intimidating for some students. We encourage group singing, which helps build confidence. Solo performances are always optional, which many of our students relish! We introduce the skills in breath control, clarity, and projection, to help express themselves vocally.
Dance - We ensure that every child feels comfortable and confident when learning new choreography. We focus on individual strengths and create a safe, inclusive environment where students can learn fun movements and enjoy the freedom of dance. We explore a variety of dance styles ensuring a purpose and understanding from the children.
Acting - In our musical theatre classes, we emphasise storytelling and character development through movement and song. Our scrips are designed to be gender-neutral, allowing our students to become any character they choose. Learning to portray different characters helps them to express themselves and fine tune their acting skills.
We understand the importance of student-led work. We encourage exploration, improvisation and imagination. In turn, this encourages them to develop their skills in the performing arts and extend their life skills into every part of their lives.
Students are given the space to explore their own thoughts, opinions, and voices as well as working from scripts. We emphasise and encourage them to build their communication, social and problem solving skills in our classes.

The children will have a short interval breaks during the lesson so please provide a drink.
What to wear
In order for the pupils to feel comfortable in the activity it is required that they wear appropriate clothes to move about in and the correct footwear (trainers are fine) for dance.
